Calibration Load Cell Systems
One of the first calibration load cell systems was designed by us (strainsense co.) In 1973. This 1,000,000 lbf capacity system was used for certifying mechaniical test machines
Our load cell calibration systems are designed to measure force from 50 lbf up to and above 3,000,000 lbf. In both comprssion and tension.
The Conamp 20HR digital load cell system can be designed to use multiple calibration load cells and designed to certify to the ASTM E-74 specification which supports the astm E-4 specification
The Conamp 20HR can be custom designed for a verity of load ranges with the display resolution displaying in engineering units, percent, and metric units or a combination of these
The unique design of the Conamp 20HR system enables one (1) operator to perform a complete ADSTM E-4 calibrationor load check by operating the testing machine and recording the digital indicated results with increased accuracy

Certoport E-74 XCX——our computer based system
The Certoport E-74 XCX is an individual computer based digital system for producing a complete astm e4 certificate. The system will display and automatically correct the load to produce a complete ASTM E4 certificate, printing out the pertinent test machine information. This is a program and hardware for inputting the load cell data directly into the Certoport E-74 XCX.

Each one of our calibration grade compression and tension load cells are designed with a ‘screw-in’ load button for the compression test (unless not needed). The load button will have a radius top machined into it for uniform load distribution
We can design these same capacity load cells with external (male) threads on each end
Compression grade load cells
Strainsense enterprises designs and manufactures a wide range of compression calibration grade load cells ranging from 50 lbf – 3,000,000 lbf (or equivalent metric models)
Our compression load cells are designed more ‘streamlined’ compared to other load cell suppliers making the load cells lighter in weight and easier to handle. Reducing the transportation costs and operator effort
(ie: our typical 600,000 lbf calibration compression load cell weighs less than 30 lbs
(our typical 1,000,000 lbf calibration compression load cell weighs less than 65 lbs)
All of our compression calibration load cells are designed with a ‘radius’ top for uniform load distribution
Folding handles are standard for capacities above 500,000 lbf. Screw-in handles are available
High capacity heavy duty load cells
Strainsense enterprises designs and manufactures a wide range of high capacity heavy duty grade load cells— tipping the scales up to 3,000,000 lbf (or equivalent metric models). All of these load cells are available in compression and/ or tension
This type of load cell is used in the rigging industry (wire rope, chain, synthetic rope manufacturing) where the load cell is installed into the proof test bed for general proof testing and/ or destructive (break) testing. These load cells are designed with larger threads, larger body and ‘special’ gage sensors for the daily abuse that the proof test machines are subject to. They are designed for accuracy and longevity
Our high capacity load cells are designed and warranted to pass the ASTM E-4 specification
The load cells are designed with the male-female thread combination. To fit onto the cylinder ram and into the main clevis of the test machine. The load cells can also be designed with ‘eyes’ on each end where they can be pinned into each clevis
Any thread size can be manufactured for these high capacity load cells, depending on the test specifications
Strainsense company has designed and manufactured multiple high capacity load cells (above 3,000,000 lbf) that are currently being used in the high capacity test beds located throughout the united states and internationally (further information is available upon request)
We have supplied these load cells for one (1) single cylinder or two (2) independent cylinders summed together to reach the specific capacity
Strainsense will ‘custom’ build any high capacity load cell to fit into ‘your’ new or existing test bed. We will design our load cell around your test bed design. Plus we offer the on-site ASTM E-4 calibration
Hollow core compression load cells
- Strainsense enterprises designs and manufactures hollow core compression load cells
- These load cells are designed for the prestreess/ precast concrete industry
- The load cell capacities range from 20,000 lbf up to and above 1,000,000 lbf compression
- Our model ‘sstcalxxxch’ is designed for the calibration industry warranty to pass the astm e74 specifications with a lower class a limit of 10% or better
- These load cells are designed with a 0.75″ thru hole for the cable to pass— other diameter thru holes can be designed into this load cell (depending on the capacity and physical size)
